A New Orleans City Council member will meet with a Major League Baseball official in hopes of bringing a youth program to a hurricane-damaged park.
Arnie Fielkow meets today with Darrell Miller, director of the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy, as the city continues efforts to bring the Academy to Wesley Barrow Stadium, which was damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
Fielkow says one factor in bringing the program to the park will be funding from FEMA to restore the stadium.
His comments came during news conference where he urged voters to pass a ballot initiative on Saturday that will re-organize the city's recreation department.
