Council set to "object" to dangerous railroad crossing closures
AMITE- Tangipahoa Parish leaders will discuss a plan by the Department of Transportation and Development to close three railroad crossings in the parish.
Some of the crossings have been the scene of train accidents were a number of people have died. Most recently, four juveniles and an unborn child died.
Leaders don't support the plan. ActionNews17.com reports some in the community don't either, and want the crossings to remain open.
Kristy Davis will have more on railroad crossings on News2 at 10:00.
