Council backs zoning change for Emerson project
GONZALES - City leaders were able to agree on a zoning change, paving the way for a planned Ascension Parish headquarters for Emerson Process Management.
Monday night, the city council was able to settle a disagreement by making changes over the type of special use permit the facility would need on West Edenborne Parkway.
The new facility would also create about 60 new jobs Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux said.
Because the ordinance was changed, it will require one more vote in two weeks. The mayor expects it to pass.
