Cosmic Run moved to September, refunds offered
BATON ROUGE - Organizers of the Cosmic Run 5K offered full refunds for people who signed up for an event at LSU that the university said was never approved.
Cosmic Run posted on Facebook that they were moving the run to Sept. 12 at Airline Highway Park, and they would refund anyone who did not want to participate.
Cosmic Run originally announced plans to hold a run at LSU on March 15, but the university said last week that organizers never met the obligations they were given in order to hold the run on campus. LSU also issued a cease and desist against Cosmic Run, demanding full refunds for people the university claims were misled.
LSU issued a statement Tuesday that they appreciated Cosmic Run's decision to "do the right thing by its customers."
Run organizers originally rescheduled the event for April 19 at Airline Highway Park, but said Tuesday they changed the date to September after runners complained it conflicted with the Easter holiday.
A BREC spokesperson said Cosmic Run has turned in the necessary paperwork to hold the September event, but has yet to pay their deposit.
