The U.S.Army Corps of Engineers announced it will hold public meetings next week in Morgan City on Sept. 28 and Houma on Sept. 29 to get people's input on coastal restoration plans.

At Morgan City, the corps will present its plans to stabilize the Gulf Shoreline at Point Au Fer Island. The corps is looking at using rocks and to build marsh at the island.

In Houma, the corps will discuss methods to maintain the land bridge between Caillou Lake and Gulf of Mexico.

The public is invited to the meetings, where they can express their concerns over the plans.
