Coroner says man drowned in pond
BATON ROUGE - Authorities said that a man found dead in an East Baton Rouge pond Wednesday accidentally drowned.
Sheriff's deputies were called out to the pond off O'Neal Lane Wednesday around 10 a.m. The body was removed by the coroner's office just after 11 a.m.
Witnesses in the area told News 2 they believe the man was out fishing and slipped into the pond.
His name has not been released, pending notification of his family.
