Coroner: Man found along I-10 died from beating
NEW ORLEANS - A man whose body was found on Saturday by the side of Interstate 10 in eastern New Orleans was beaten to death.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office tells The Times-Picayune the death has now been classified as a homicide.
John Gagliano, chief investigator for the coroner's office, says the victim, who has not yet been identified, died from trauma to his head and chest. Gagliano says the victim had likely been dead for two to three days.
Police said the victim's body was discovered just after 7 p.m. Saturday near the Michoud Boulevard exit.
