Coroner IDs human remains found on Waverly Drive
BATON ROUGE - The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner's Office said with the help of the LSU FACES Lab, they've identified human remains found next to a house on Waverly Drive last week.
The EBR Coroner's Office says the remains belong to Christopher Martin Schlechte, whose body was discovered in a "badly decomposed" state by a utility worker on the morning of June 16 at 1050 Waverly Drive.
Investigators had to use dental records for Schlechte to identify him. Baton Rouge Police said they're working with the FACES lab to continue analyzing Schlechte's remains.
At this point in the investigation, the cause and manner of death have yet to be determined.
