Cops: Loaded gun found in hollowed-out box resembling Bible
NEW YORK - New York City police say they found a loaded gun inside a hollowed-out lockbox that resembles the Bible during a traffic stop.
The container looked like a leather-bound King James Bible. But instead of the word of God, it contained a loaded Glock 17, 10 bullets and a magazine.
Officers made the discovery early Monday in Brooklyn after pulling over a car with tinted windows.
Police say they searched the car after smelling a strong odor of marijuana. They also found an open alcohol container and a knife.
The driver and two passengers were charged with weapon and marijuana possession.
