LIVINGSTON- One restaurant is going the extra mile with its gratitude for law enforcement.

Wayne's Hickory Pit Bar-B-Que in Livingston is offering free meals to all cops this week. It's a response to Sundays shooting of three Baton Rouge law enforcement officers.

"You see such tragic losses amongst our police and you wonder: what can you do?" said Wayne Henderson, the restaurant's owner. "We pray for them and our hearts bleed for the families, but what can we do? A tiny bit of appreciation, it feels good."

Since Monday the bar-b-que joint has donated an average of twelve meals per day, costing hundreds of dollars.

"We've actually even had people call in to make donations on their credit cards," said cashier Tommy Graham.

The restaurant will offer the free meals through Saturday.
