Cooler day, cold night
The third cold front to push through our region this week is passing by today. All we're noticing with its passage is some patchy cloud cover as well as a few sprinkles off the coast. After the cold front clears the area, winds will shift to the northwest promoting the advancement of cooler air through the day. Because of this, despite the sun's warming effect, thermometers will be held in check today-staying in the middle 50s. That trend will continue tonight and we can expect a very cold one. Overnight lows will bottom out below freezing and go into the upper 20s for many locations.
The weekend is expected to be mostly sunny and seasonable.
