BATON ROUGE- A controversial plan to rezone a property at the corner of Perkins Road and Stuart Avenue is dead.
Opponents say it was part of a purchase agreement which would have allowed two psychiatrists to open an office on the site.
Homeowners in the Southdowns neighborhood say there should be no more exceptions in residential areas.
Property owner Ben Skillman says he has run a real estate business at the property for years. He says the proposed medical office would not be much different.
Metro zoning members say the plan will have to be overhauled before it can be considered again.
