Notorious contractor released from jail after posting bond on yet another arrest

BATON ROUGE - A residential contractor accused of several fraud charges across three parishes has posted bond on his latest arrested in East Baton Rouge Parish.

In the latest case, a homeowner told deputies Michael Simmers never returned the $5000 they paid his business, TWG Contractors, to do work on a flooded.

Simmers was booked into jail Thursday and released early Friday. 
    
The victim says, a contract was signed in January 2017 and payment was given to the company. A month elapsed with no work done on the home. 

The victim attempted to cancel the contract, according to arrest documents, he was told by TWG he could only get half of his money back. Sheriff deputies say, the victim still has not received the money, promised to the victim.

Simmers bonded out of East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a single felony count of residential contractor fraud, Friday morning.

Simmers faces similar, additional charges in EBR and also Livingston and Ascension Parishes.
