BASILE- Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries agents found four live alligators in a container at a home in Evangeline Parish after they received a complaint.
Agents cited John Sonnier for possessing alligators during a closed season.
An agent found the live alligators in a large black container.
Agents said Sonnier admitted his farm captured the alligators and they've been in the container for two weeks.
Taking or possessing alligators during a closed season has a $400 to $950 fine, up to 120 days in jail, or both plus court cost and forfeiture of anything seized.
