BAYOU CORNE - A community meeting with members of the governor's blue ribbon commission for the Assumption Parish sinkhole is going on now.

The commission has been in Bayou Corne for the past few days examining the sinkhole site. The group was formed to ensure the long-term safety of people living near the sinkhole, which formed over a salt dome on land leased to Texas Brine LLC.

Tonight's meeting is the first briefing the commission has held for members of the public.

News 2 crews are at the meeting and will have more on what was discussed tonight at 10 p.m.
