BATON ROUGE- In what has become an annual tradition, community leaders are volunteering their time to participate in the St. Vincent de Paul's 8th annual turkey carving contest.

Community leaders at the event include Mayor Sharon Weston Broome and District Attorney Hillar Moore.

The contestants will be judged on a number of categories. The contestants help St. Vincent de Paul staff and volunteers prepare the turkeys that will be given to the poor and homeless on Thanksgiving Day.

The event was held in the St. Vincent de Paul dining room.

Longtime LSU Gymnastics Coach DD Breaux took first place, with Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and District Attorney Hillar Moore coming in second and third respectively.
