Committee approves Green for La. U.S. Attorney
WASHINGTON - The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee has approved Walt Green's nomination to be U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana.
Green has been serving as Acting United States Attorney since Donald J. Cazayoux Jr. resigned in July of 2013.
Green was recommended for the position by U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu.
"I would like to thank the Senate Judiciary Committee for forwarding my nomination to serve as the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana to the Senate for consideration, and I would also like to thank Senator Landrieu for originally recommending me to the President to serve in this important position," Mr. Green said.
His nomination now heads to the full Senate for consideration.
