Though clouds and the first sign of rain are behind schedule, I still expect both to arrive today. A cold front remains well west of the area, barely into the northwest corner of Louisiana. As the day goes on, the cold front will drop to the southeast allowing moisture to increase, our cloud deck to thicken and rain showers to develop this afternoon. With the front's arrival, today we say hello and goodbye to the 80s for the final time-- at least for the next week or so.
Notice Saturday in the 7-Day Forecast. It still appears as though a wave of low pressure will develop in the Northwestern Gulf of Mexico and ride today's cold front that will stall along the Louisiana coastline. I expect this to provide periods of rain, some heavy, late Friday and into Saturday.
