Coast Guard rescues two boaters on Mississippi River

NEW ORLEANS - A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued two people from the Mississippi River, Wednesday.
The crew saved two people from a small boat taking on water near Main Pass.
Watchstanders with Coast Guard Sector New Orleans got the call around 2 p.m. that the 13-foot aluminum flat boat was taking on water near Quarantine Station in Main Pass. A helicopter crew and a boat crew were sent to locate the boaters and get them to safety.
The helicopter crew was able to pull them out of the water. There were no reported injuries.
