Coast Guard rescues man overboard from skimmer
The Coast Guard says it rescued a crewman who fell overboard from a oil spill skimmer vessel.
The vessel Philip Allen McCall radioed for help when 49-year-old Ricky Johnson went missing in the Gulf of Mexico about 50 miles off Venice.
Johnson was spotted around 9 a.m.
The Coast Guard said a swimmer was dropped from a Dolphin helicopter and helped Johnson into a basket.
He was then airlifted to West Jefferson Medical Center in undetermined condition.
