"Coach" Carlisle passes away at 82
LIVINGSTON - Former Livingston Parish School Board member Louis "Coach" Carlisle died Wednesday morning, according to family members.
He was 82 years old.
Family members say Carlisle was playing golf Saturday and had a heart attack Saturday night, succumbing Wednesday morning.
Known as "Coach", Carlisle brought the Assumption High School Mustangs to a state championship.
Later he moved to Denham Springs High School where he coached and later became principal.
In 1986, he successfully ran for Livingston Parish School Board and served until the end of last year when he chose not to seek re-election.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Carlisle, his daughter Donna Carlisle Erdey, his sons Keith and Brent Carlisle, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Services will be held at First Pentecostal Church of Denham Springs at 1020 South Range Avenue.
A wake will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, July 29th, 2011.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday morning July 30th, 2011
Service will begin at 11 a.m.
