BATON ROUGE - Salon workers told News 2 their boss's body was the one found in the trunk of a car today in Baton Rouge.
Police said they were called after the car was found abandoned in a parking lot this morning in the 4500 block of Evangeline Street. They found the body of a black male believed to be in his 20's in the trunk, dead with obvious head trauma.
Co-workers told News 2 the victim was 27-year-old Clifton Walker, the owner of the Alter Ego Salon in Baton Rouge.
Jason Coates owns the business where the car was found, and is the one who initially called police.
"It's sad," he said. "No matter what it is, that's somebody's son that's gone. The violence has to stop."
Police said they haven't determined the exact cause of death, and scheduled an autopsy for the victim. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869.
