BATON ROUGE - Police arrested 15 illegal immigrants and three others during a raid at a Baton Rouge club this weekend.
Cpl. Thomas Stubbs said Baton Rouge Police, FBI, the Homeland Security along with other state and local agencies made the arrests Saturday night at The Latin Club on Greenwell Springs Road.
Stubbs said Homeland Security arrested 15 illegal immigrants, whom he said were to be deported "generally due to previous criminal histories." State Alcohol and Tobacco Control officers cited the bar for eight violations, including allowing underage people into the bar. The Baton Rouge Fire Marshal's office also cited the bar for fire code violations.
The three others arrested include Victor Gardona Badoles, 29, for resisting an officer; Leonidas Umana, 35, for public intoxication and resisting an officer, and Dariela Cantillano, 17, who was issued a summons for underage entry in an alcohol establishment.
News 2's Kristy Davis will have more on the investigation into the bar, which has been the site of multiple violent acts and visits by authorities, tonight at 10 p.m.
