BATON ROUGE - Severe weather swamped already-flooded parishes this morning, forcing closed more roads and schools.

Here's a list of updated closings for Jan. 10:

- Pointe Coupee Parish Public Schools: closing at noon
- St. Mary Parish Public Schools
- St. Helena Parish Public Schools
- Christian Life Academy closed Friday

Numerous roads in parishes around our area are also affected by high water. Authorities are out placing barricades in those areas, and warn drives not to go through barricaded roads.

Livingston Parish emergency officials said they had to spend spend more time this morning pulling cars out of flooded roads than providing help to areas that need assistance.
