LAFAYETTE - The old Our Lady of Lourdes hospital building will be torn down.
KATC TV reports the building will not be imploded, because it's too close to neighborhoods and offices.
The hospital is now accepting bids for demolition of the closed hospital, estimated to cost about 2-million dollars.
A building committee will review the bids and award the job early next month. Work is expected to begin in 2013 and be complete by the summer.
The hospital moved in to a new facility in June.
