Clinton: US wants biting sanctions on Iran
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the Obama administration will not accept a nuclear armed Iran.
In a speech to a pro-Israel group, Clinton said parts of Iran's government had become a menace to the Iranian people and the region.
She says Iran must be shown there are "real consequences" for refusing to prove its nuclear activities are peaceful.
Clinton says if Iran developed a nuclear weapon, it would encourage terrorists and spark an arms race that would destabilize the Middle East.
