CLINTON - Water officials issued a boil order late Monday night.

The order is for people in Water District 7 and includes Highway 961 between Highway 10 and Rist Road, all of McConnell Lane and Cox Lane. The order only impacts a few dozen homes in the area.

The water district said there was a problem with the water supply, so the order was issued. The order is in effect until further notice. Once the water has been tested and found clean by the Department of Health and Hospitals, Water District 7 will rescind the boil order.

Customers should bring water to a boil and keep it boiling for one minute to disinfect it before consuming it. That includes products with water or that use water, such as fountain drinks, making ice, brushing teeth or using it in food preparation.
