"Click it or Ticket" campaign set to begin
BATON ROUGE- Beginning Monday May 19, Officers from law enforcement agencies throughout Louisiana will be cracking down on unbuckled motorists.
It's all part of the "Click it or Ticket" campaign, to increase seat belt use and help save lives.
Louisiana's seat belt use increased to 82.5 percent of drivers and front-seat passengers in 2013, but continues to lag behind the nationwide average.
The two-week campaign includes Memorial Day, traditionally among the worse holidays for traffic deaths in Louisiana.
The campaign ends June 1.
