City Sells Naming Rights for Movie
The city of Altoona, Pennsylvania will be renamed for 60-days to make some money and to help independent flimmaker Morgan Spurlock make a point. The City Council approved a deal to change the name to "POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold". Spurlock will pay the city an unspecified amount to benefit the police department. Spurlock's film makes fun of the proliferation of advertising in American life. POM Wonderful is a juice company that paid to be the movie's title sponsor. The name change starts April 27, the same day the movie is screened in Altoona.
