City leaders in BR to talk about vehicle take-home policy
BATON ROUGE- City leaders could begin discussing making changes to the take-home vehicle policy Wednesday.
Metro Councilwoman C. Denise Marcelle is proposing making changes to the policy, including removing the 24 mile exception and limiting personal usage of city-owned vehicles.
"We pay for the fuel and I think we have a right to know how many of those vehicles are travelling outside of the parish and what it is costing the citizens," Marcelle told WBRZ News 2.
"And, if the citizens want to say, 'that's okay,' then that's certainly their prerogative," she added.
Also up for discussion at Wednesday's meeting: paying for software design for an emergency app for smartphones and changing some fire protection boundaries.
