A Capital Area Transit System bus caught on fire in transit today.
It happened at the corner of Highland Road and South Stadium in Baton Rouge.
All passengers on board got off the bus unharmed. Another CATS bus came to the scene to pick up the passengers.
The bus driver says the engine started smoking, then it went up in flames.
The back of the bus and several rows of seats were destroyed before Baton Rouge firefighters were able to put out the blaze.
A section of Highland Road in front of Parker Coliseum is closed and Louisiana State Police are directing traffic around the area.
