Circus elephant shot in drive-by
TUPELO, MISSISSIPPI- A Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus elephant was hit by a bullet in a drive-by shooting, but is not seriously wounded.
Carol the Elephant is part of the circus act in Tupelo for performances and was outside the BancorpSouth Arena.
A $250 reward is offered for information on who did the shooting.
Police say it happened about 2 a.m. Monday as a car drove through the area with people inside firing shots.
