Christmas Eve robber wanted
BATON ROUGE- Police are looking for the person who held up a gas station near downtown on Christmas Eve.
The man had his hand inside a green book bag, acting like he was armed, when he demanded money from the clerk at the Chevron on St. Ferdinand Street around 5:40 Tuesday evening. No weapon was ever seen.
The clerk closed and locked the register then threw the keys away from the robber. But, that didn't stop the bad guy. He threw the register to the ground, smashed it, and opened the cash drawer taking all the money inside.
The robber was able to escape on a mountain bike with a rear bag rack.
Police are asking for help in locating the man.
