Chris Price - Weekend Sports Anchor / Reporter
Chris Price is the Weekend Sports Anchor at WBRZ. He joined the WBRZ sports team the day after Christmas 2013. Chris grew up in Mandeville, LA and went to St. Paul's High School in Covington and then graduated cum laude from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. He also played varsity tennis for his four years at Trinity.
Chris began his sports broadcasting career at WCJB (ABC) in Gainesville, Florida. He worked his way up from unpaid intern to full-time sports reporter, then promoted to Sports Director. Chris won the Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Sports Report in 2013.
Chris grew up admiring the legends of sports broadcasting. He especially appreciated the way Chris Berman and Bob Costas delivered the sports news. Chris got his first brush with sports fame in high school when another legend, Jim Nantz gave him a press pass at a basketball game in the Superdome. "I was able to walk around the press area and locker rooms and thought I could do this for a living."
Chris lives in Baton Rouge, where he enjoys playing tennis and running with his dog Ender. He was a board member with Catholic Charities in Gainesville and he is looking forward to getting involved in the Baton Rouge community with both church and other charity organizations.
