Chinea hits inside the park home run, LSU wins 7-3
BATON ROUGE - LSU first baseman Chris Chinea didn't have a home run before Saturday. And not many could've predicted his first would be inside the park.
Tied at 2-2 in the 8th, the power slugger hitting a 3-run inside the park HR to give the Tigers the lead for good in a 7-3 victory over Kentucky.
Chinea hitting the ball past the Wildcats diving left fielder. The ball getting lodged under the outfield padding, leading to Kade Scivicque, Andrew Stevenson and eventually Chinea all coming home.
Kentucky tried to argue that because of the ball be lodged, it was a double by rule. But as many LSU fans remember from the regional last year, if you can see the ball, it is fair.
LSU advances to 22-4 on the year and 4-3 in the SEC. Kentucky drops to 17-9, 3-4 SEC. The rubber game will take place Sunday at 11 a.m.
