Chilly now, colder by week's end
After a below freezing morning expect thermometers to rebound into the 50s today. While that leaves us about 10° below average, it is a 30° improvement on the morning readings, and come Friday, you may be wishing it was 50°! High pressure will be overhead meaning winds will be light and subsiding air will lead to an all-blue, sun-filled sky. As that high pressure system budges eastward, winds will become light and southerly which should be just enough to prevent us from going below freezing tonight.
Once again, we'll be blasted with some really cold air. After another front ont Thursday, Friday Morning temperatures will plummet into the middle 20s. As an arctic high plants itself in the Midwest, northerly winds and a continued supply of cold air will keep our high temperatures in the lower 40s, at best. Some clouds lagging behind the front may lead to a fairly gray and even colder feeling day. This cold air will stay put through Saturday Afternoon before a wind shift enables us to trudge back into the 50s.
