ZACHARY- An investigation is underway after a four-wheeler overturned, killing one child and injuring another.

It happened just before 8 p.m. Wednesday in a pasture in the 900 block of East Flonacher near Zachary.

Investigators say 8-year-old Juan Holmes and a 7-year-old girl were on the four-wheeler when they lost control, and the four-wheeler flipped.

Holmes was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

The 7-year-old girl suffered minor injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
