Child dies after getting stuck in open car window
GONZALES - A three-year-old died after his head got stuck in an open car window, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said the child was able to climb onto the car and was trapped when he put his head through the partially open window at a house in the 43000 block of Highway 931. The name of the child was not released.
Investigators said the child was rushed to a hospital after the incident Sunday evening and was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Sheriff's deputies said the child wandered out of the house without the knowledge of his parents inside. He was missing for a few minutes when they found the child caught in the window Sheriff Jeff Wiley said.
Detectives are still investigating the death.
