BATON ROUGE - An infant was taken to an area hospital after being injured in a scuffle between adult family members Wednesday.

Police said they responded to the Red Robin restaurant outside the Mall of Louisiana where the incident occurred. Officers said the child was being held by its grandmother who was eating with a knife when the child's mother started to argue with the older woman. In an apparent scuffle between the women, the child was cut.

The infant will likely need stitches.

Police said the women are mother and daughter. They received court summons; tickets that require they appear before a judge.
