BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies arrested an East Baton Rouge cheer coach on charges he raped one of his employees several years ago.

Deputies accused 36-year-old Jason Galjour of forcible rape on Wednesday. Galjour is listed with the state as manager of Precision Athletes in Baton Rouge.

Investigators said the victim came forward on Aug. 25 and told detectives about the rape, which she said happened when she worked for Galjour four years ago. Deputies said the victim told them she and some co-workers went to Galjour's house one night in July 2011 to hang out while his wife was out of town. The victim said she grew tired at some point that night and went upstairs to lay down in the guest bedroom.

Detectives said the victim told them she woke up later and found Galjour touching her, and that he told her "I know you want this." The victim said she told Galjour no, but he held her down and raped her. After it was over the victim said she put her clothes on and left. She said the other four people who had been at the house were asleep either in Galjour's bedroom or on furniture downstairs when the rape happened.

Deputies said the victim told them she'd been sexually assaulted before, and went through trauma counseling before deciding to pursue charges against Galjour.

The sheriff's office said they contacted Galjour on Aug. 28 to meet with him, and he agreed to talk with them Sept. 2. On Sept. 1 deputies said Galjour's attorney contacted them and said he would not attend, and scheduled a new date for Sept. 8.

Deputies said Galjour's attorney canceled that meeting too, and told the detectives they knew what the accusation was and there was "no need to meet just so Galjour would deny doing it," according to the arrest affidavit.

The sheriff's office got a warrant for Galjour's arrest that day and booked him into the parish prison on Sept. 9. He was released from jail later that day on a $50,000 bond.
