BATON ROUGE - A pursuit that ended in a car crashing into a fire hydrant in Scotlandville prompted deputies to search for a second possible suspect Thursday afternoon.

According to East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, one person is in custody after a vehicle hit a fire hydrant at Douglas and Amarillo.

The busted hydrant caused street flooding and residents in the neighborhood tell WBRZ Channel 2 that they are without water.

Deputies did not say why the suspect was fleeing authorities.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned to WBRZ Channel 2 online and on Facebook and Twitter for updates as new information becomes available.
