Drew Brees connected with Marques Colston to put the Saints up 14-10 in the second quarter, but the Chargers would respond with a score of their own before the end of the half.

Philip Rivers threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Robert Meachem with 36 seconds left on the first half clock to take the lead 17-14 going into the break.
