Champion pilots to compete at Lamar-Dixon
GONZALES - Organizers for the 2013 Louisiana Hot Air Balloon Championship announced that several big names in ballooning, including the reigning world champion, will be at next month's event.
A spokesperson said John Petrehn, the reigning ballooning world champion, would be one of the pilots competing for a win at the 2013 championships. Also attending are the current national champion, Paul Petrehn; current world runner-up and previous world champion, Nick Donner; previous U.S. national champion, Chase Donner; and current U.S. national runner-up, Joe Zvada.
They'll be competing against 50 other pilots at the 2013 Louisiana championships from Sept. 26 to 29 at the Lama-Dixon Expo Center in Ascension Parish.
