Anthony Howard is from Brazil but has been living in Louisiana for more than 30 years and was excited to see this day finally come.

"I know there are a lot of other countries out there that you don't have that ability," said Howard, father of two. "This was a pretty awesome experience something I'll never forget and having my kids with me was probably the best thing."

Authorities said they are working to move these types of ceremonies to the National Citizenship day in September.
