Update: East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office says the Central High student expelled for terrorizing the school blurted out the gun threat in class.

Authorities say 17-year-old Dominic Saia was upset about being written up and said he would bring a gun campus to "shoot up the school."

This is Central High's first gun threat. Some parents are concerned and surprised this happened in the small town.

School officials are now trying to get an officer to patrol Central's campus during the day.

Saia was booked into prison Sept. 8 on a $50,000 bond. He posted bond on the Sept. 10 after meeting the stipulations set forth by the Judge.
