Central Schools keeping eligibility tight

CENTRAL - Officials are purging the rolls to ensure students in the Central Community School District all live in the community.

"They're looking out for what's best for their kids," said Superintendent Michael Faulk.  "They want their child to have a good education, and they hear from other parents, and they hear from people in the community that the Central Community School System is a good school system."

That's why some parents move to the district, just to get their student in the door.

"We had to move somewhere where we could afford and the area was still nice, kid friendly and everything, and yes definitely the school is... that was my number one thing when it came to moving," said Chevonccia Fisher, whose fourth grader will be attending Central this year.

Fisher had to jump through a few hoops to get her son registered, but she says it's something she's happy to do.

"It's what I would expect coming into a new school system, just a lot of documents you have to verify which is always good, because you don't want to go some place where they don't care where you live, which makes me feel more secure," said Fisher.
