CENTRAL- People can expect to see an extra show-of-force this holiday season.

Tuesday night, Police Chief Doug Browning update city leaders on his annual plan to hire off duty officers from area departments to police the streets during the busy holiday shopping season.

A mix of paid on-duty Central officers with hired officers from other forces and Central's reserve officer program, will spend about 600 hours on the streets. They'll be working to keep the street's Grinch-free as people shop and enjoy the season.
