CENTRAL - Central Fire Department is investigating a house fire on Gurney Road Thursday.

Officials say the blaze started just after 6:00 p.m.

When crews first arrived, they say they saw visible flames coming through the roof. It took nearly 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Authorities say no one was home at the time, but two dogs were killed in the fire. One firefighter was treated on scene by EMS and released.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and the Red Cross is assisting the family.
