CATS: Some routes to return to service Monday

BATON ROUGE - The Capital Area Transit System reports that it will re-establish a limited number of lines on Monday following this past weekend’s historic flooding.

CATS says it is evaluating road conditions and staffing levels as it decides which routes to operate at this time. CATS has been assisting local government with evacuating rescued residents in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas and hopes to get back to some normal service at the outset of this week.

So, far CATS says it has transported more than 3,000 evacuees in conjunction with law enforcement and other local efforts.

The following routes will run on Monday, Aug. 15, according to CATS:

8 - Gus Young / BRCC
10 – Scenic Hwy. / Southern Univ.
12 – Government St. / Jefferson Hwy
14 – Thomas Delpit Dr.
17 –  Perkins Rd. - Mall of Louisiana
21 –  Fairfields Ave. - Cortana Mall    
22 – Winbourne Ave. - Cortana Mall (with detour)
41 –  Plank Rd.
44 –  Florida Blvd. - Cortana Mall
46 – Gardere / OLOL / L'Auberge
47 – Highland Rd.
72 –  Florida Blvd. Limited Stops
