BATON ROUGE - The CEO of the Capital Area Transit System says managers may suggest to metro council members that they allow the system to operate at full capacity until it runs out of funding in July.
Brian Marshall and CATS board members are searching for ways to deal with next year's budget shortfall of $2.1 million, without sacrificing customer service.
The current plan on the table will force the system to cut 46 percent of its services to balance the budget.
The next council meeting is scheduled for Dec. 14.
